I’ve always adored being around kids. First of all, they’re hilarious. The queries they question, the stories they produce – they make me have a good laugh and I don’t believe I’ll ever get enough of the sweet personalities and the ones chubby cheeks.

During college I needed a job as a nanny. Among my classes on sometimes over the weekends, I spent my time reading tales, playing hide and seek, going to the recreation area, and of training course… cooking with kids.
It’s still among my favorite things to do.

I can’t believe how aged they’re getting… they just turned 5!
Since I’m not a nanny anymore I don’t get to find out them as much as I like, BUT when I do get to spend time with my two favorites I make an effort to allow it to be as special as you possibly can.
Everytime we’re collectively we do two things: bake goodies and also have a ‘snacks party’. The snacks party is usually just a trick I use to get them to clean up their playthings fast, enter PJs, and settle down for a movie and a plate of snacks. I tell them that we can’t ever be late for the snacks party and it works everytime!
Last week We attended a book signing for fellow meals blogger Shaina Olmanson’s brand-new cookbook Desserts in Jars and was sent home with a jar filled with monster cookie mix. Needless to say because it was Milly and Remy’s birthday, I knew we’d be baking them immediately!
The cookies proved perfect!
I’d say they’re certainly kid-approved.
