OMG. Life’s been crazy lately. I mean actually insane. Using the #SummerSWEATseries happening, recipe development, additional amazing tasks plus travel, I haven’t experienced the opportunity to sit down and really write to you about what’s been happening in my life.

So let’s step back several months and discuss all the deliciousness, good things, bad rubbish and everything among. But first move get your morning sit down elsewhere and then we can sit down to get a chat.
Some time ago, I attended a conference in Chicago with some bloggers. We rented a residence and everything got together and discussed all things blogging. I took apart so many beneficial things for AK; it constantly helps to obtain outside perspective from others in your industry. Plus, I adored meeting additional bloggers that I’ve generally noticed online but never had the opportunity to meet personally.
Here’s a picture of me and my buddy Rachel from Rachel Cooks She’s wonderful in every way and I’m so happy I got to know her through blogging. And in a lot more interesting new, I’ll be happening another blogger retreat next weekend (Rachel is definitely hosting!). I’m uber excited!
Hmmm what else?
I acquired the results of my MRI back. If you remember some time ago, I pointed out that I got a pretty serious neck/back injury which was limiting my physical activity. Lately it’s got quite better due to acupuncture and a new cervical cushion I bought off Amazon. YAY.
I’m also becoming mindful of what We eat because of a possible swelling response in my own body (via blood tests). I’ve been pretty good for the most part. Primarily, I’m endeavoring to end up being good to myself and my body, which includes taking days off and indulging in Buffalo Crazy Wings with Tony. Ha!
Here’s another high light from recent months: Getting together with Sarah from Broma Bakery Sarah and I ‘fulfilled’ over the internet a couple of years ago. I discovered her blog and immediately observed her skill for baking doughnuts, cookies and having a unique style.
What I noticed immediately with Sarah, is that she has an unbelievable talent for pictures, something that I feel like I’m not really the best at. I asked Sarah to come quickly to Chicago to do a few photoshoots with me and in exchange I’d train her a couple of things about the technical part of blogging. What both of us didn’t realize is that we’d become such friends and hit it off like we’d known one another for years. Significantly it had been redic.
I mean, simply check her away with Milly; they became besties after 1 day.
Of course, we weren’t just going to talk about blogging the complete time she was in Chicago. We had been on a mission to eat and EAT WELL. Early one morning hours we stood in line for the Doughnut Vault for a good 45 a few minutes. While their doughnuts had been good, they definitely weren’t our total favorites.
BTW If you live in Chicago, I’d want to hear your doughnut suggestions!
Once morning following a super sweaty hot yoga program at Corepower, we decided to dive into pancakes. These delicious chocolate chip types are from Wildberry pancakes and are probably the best in the city.
FYI: You need to know that in the event that you go there on a weekend, you might be bound to wait at least one hour. Sarah and I waited for one hour . 5. #worthit #carblovers
I can’t wait for Sarah to come back again. We’ve currently got a trip planned in August. YAY!
My grandpa and grandma at their wedding ceremony in 1954.
Today onto some not so great news…
A few weeks back, my grandfather passed on unexpectedly. It had been heartbreaking for my family, particularly for my Grandma. They were wedded for over 60 years and led a lovely life together which included the delivery of seven kids. My Grandpa was a nice man with the corniest jokes, and most of us loved him for it. He was somebody who under no circumstances judged you but rather gave advice based on life experience. He was honest, adoring and kind.
My Grandpa and my Mom at her graduation.
We are going to miss him dearly but often like him and store the memories we’ve.
If you’d like to read even more about my Grandpa, you can check out my formula for his favorite better-for-you banana muffins or read about their sweet like story
Love is beautiful and he had a wonderful lifestyle.
In other news, I’ve been trying harder to map out my meals so that I’m prepped for the week. The formula above is definitely Lee’s Healthful Kung Pao Poultry It’s freaking delicious; I made it 3 x in fourteen days.
Obsessed.
I’ve also been really into producing grain-free recipes, especially types with coconut flour. I love the taste, consistency and the actual fact that it’s FILLING due to the healthy fats, fiber and proteins. Just say yes to healthy fats! I recall after i used to be so scared that body fat would make me fat. It’s not the case at all. I would know because I eat a sort Bar daily alongside at least two to four tablespoons of nut butter. Haha.
I will be publishing them SOON.
Loved causeing this to be Taco southwest salad with the amount of good tastes. I ate it for a few times and added some delicious turkey taco meat too. It’s essentially everything you need this Summer. And it’s really gluten free. CHOMP CHOMP.
This recipe is coming sooonnnnnn! It isn’t grain-free but it is really a burger. And burgers = delicious. Yes they are a healthier version… what do you expect?
BTW DILL PICKLES FTW. I can’t even speak to individuals who like bread and butter ones. Jk… but really?
Have I stated that I’ve become enthusiastic about tennis? It may be the only real sport that I’m somewhat decent at therefore i figure I might aswell try my best. I produced Tony go buy rackets so we’re able to play at his Summertime apartment in Alabama.
Just contact me Serena. Or Venus. Or John McEnroe.
My favorite snacks lately include these deliciously crunchy freeze dried strawberries. I want to live in the bag permanently and ever.
Wow I’m super dramatic today. (Just in case you couldn’t tell. If you liked this article and you would like to receive more info pertaining to stuffed zucchini boats mexican kindly visit our internet site. ) But actually, they’re only 100 calories for the whole BAG. It simply satisfies me knowing I could polish off the complete matter. Am I the only one?
Next snacking obsession? Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter I started buying the little packets for once i go to Tony’s baseball games and don’t want to eat whatever they’re selling in the concessions. I rip open among these and consume it right out of the packet, no spoon required!
The tiny packets do satisfy me for two hours. I will avoid those popular dogs at all costs. LOVE LOVE Like.
I’d love to understand: What’s your preferred nut butter lately?
My last favorite snack: Skinny margarita.
Jokes.
I did so have this great tasting margarita at a little Mexican restaurant called the Little Donkey in Birmingham, Alabama. I usually order a brand new margarita over the stones with a small amount of agave. So essentially it’s tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec and a small amount of agave. Mouth watering and not made with weird stuff.
Last week Tony had time away baseball so he came residential to Chicago for a couple days. We walked around the city, checked out restaurants, noticed a show at Second City and slept in. It was wonderful.
In the event that you haven’t gone to Chicago in the Summer, you most surely should get your ass here pronto. It’s a truly gorgeous city on the drinking water… and the meals is THE Top.
LET ME SHOW YOU.
Here’s a pizza we loved at Eataly (in Chicago). It had fresh new mozz, basil, spicy salami and olive oil. Absolutely incredible!
Another pizza we tried was from Homeslice Whether it’s an option, I always get pineapple on my pizza!
And that’s what I’ve been up to up to now this Summer.
I’m planning on taking a while off from the blog in July, but we’ll see if that happens. I haven’t any crazy travel coming up, aside from a short trip to Michigan to get a blogger retreat. For once, I may be within my house for more than two weeks. I’ll be back again with part two of the life span Lately summer edition later in the season.
I’d love if you adopted AK on social:
Gail Orcutt
Hope you have an excellent 4th of July weekend!
YES! Isn’t Frontera the very best?! Did you get one of these margarita?
Glaze and Infused adjustments their doughnuts often so I haven’t got those two yet. Sounds Great tasting though.
And also this one:
(They are amazon affiliate marketer links BTW)
Talking about lovely, your grandpa appears like he was a truly lovely guy. My grandparents will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this year too and it’s simply so inspiring to find out this kind of long-lasting real love. I am hoping your grandma is doing well. It must be therefore strange for her to not have him by her side, but it seems like they had a wonderful long life jointly.
I’m so content the MRI didn’t display anything significant but BOO for no true solution yet. I hope PT helps and get you back again to yoga asap.
Okay see ya Friday moneybags! xo
